May 1, 2009 • Following the release of the Initiating Foreign Assistance Reform Act of 2009 (H.R. 2139), which calls for the Obama Administration to create a National Strategy for Global Development (NSGD), MFAN hosted a standing-room only briefing on Capitol Hill with the bill’s principal author, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Howard Berman (D-CA). -
MFAN Convenes Key Congressional Staff for Foreign Assistance Briefing
2008 • MFAN recently hosted a highly-anticipated Capitol Hill briefing and panel discussion on U.S. foreign assistance with top staff from Congressional committees that will oversee the modernization process in the 111th Congress. Over 180 people packed the standing room only event, which also featured a briefing on the results of MFAN’s poll on U.S. attitudes towards foreign assistance modernization.
